Jambos exists to bring comfort to the lives of children in foster care. Since 2018, they've brought together individuals, groups, and government agencies to support these tender children during one of the most stressful times in their lives. Started in Georgia, they have expanded across the state and have extended the program to Chicago, IL, and Haiti with more on the way.

The typical concerns, and a new foundation for growth:

When Jambos approached us about developing a new website, they had the typical concerns:

  1. The website didn't communicate their growing professionalism.
  2. The content no longer reflected their mission and values.
  3. They needed to move to a platform that would allow the non-technical team to make updates without waiting for a developer.

During our initial discovery, we uncovered several different buckets of assets that they and other volunteers had made. The quality was good, but the team needed guidance on organizing and using them consistently.

Jambos needed a way to clearly communicate their values and identity to maintain both as they grew.

Designing a more comfortable experience:

With members of the board and the founding team, we worked to clearly define the organization. We reviewed the organization's verbal (the way they sound), visual (the way they look), and visceral (the way they make you feel) identities and then recorded each of them in concise, easy-to-share documents. Using these foundational principles as a guide, we designed and built their web presence to reflect their unique character.

Starting with the content first, we helped the team develop a simple, search-friendly architecture to communicate their mission in their own words.

The new custom, responsive web design for Jambos combines the comfort of pajamas with the playfulness of childhood. And it still portrays professionalism to the valuable donors and partners that they work with.

Building the future on the framework:

Their brand framework makes it easy to develop new content that stays on message. The new design showcases all of the ways to support Jambos' work and makes it convenient to get involved. It's now easier for Rebekah and her team to manage on the back end and built on a platform that's advanced enough to propel them to the next stage.
